3D Systems Implementation
Refrigeration client wanted to implement AutoCAD Plant with consistent standards & symbology across all projects.
The Problem
A refrigeration manufacturing company required a consistent, standards approached implementation of the AutoCAD Plant system across the whole business. It was felt that efficiencies, coonsistent branding & being able to move people from one project to the next was what the company needed.
The Approach
Darbury gathered all current standards, symbology, branding & best practices together. Engagement with all stakeholders followed & all discussions recorded. The AutoCAD Plant system was configured according to these decisions, the standards were set & the training material was constructed.
The piping line classes were written & embedded in to the standard configuration along with the branding, borders, symbology & other components to ensure the standard configuration was all-encompassing.
The Outcome
All projects had the same company branding & feel. The designers could assist on other projects efficiently as the system was consistent. The training was successfully delivered & the anticipated efficiencies began being seen. Reporting, schedules & Bill of Materials (BOM) were all consistent & downstream activities (for example, purchasing) started delivereing new processes based on the consistent information regardless of the project.
Using the Darbury-evolved ability to create comprehensive AutoCAD Plant 3D line classes from the PDF paper specs using the AI-enabled features would make the creation & editing of piping specs more efficient. Use of the Darbury MCP Server would allow the non-technical people in the company the ability to retrieve project-specific reports, schedules & BOM quanitities. This in turn, would free-up more time from designers to achieve their work.
